We previously had a script running off of our check-in via iPads that would notify families of a students arrival time at school. We shifted to a new feature in SmartPass last year which now performs this function for staff, but families no longer receive this notification. Our AP asked that I reach out to see if providing an option to notify families is a possibility.

We’re using the SmartPass system to alert staff, but we were sending emails to families based on a google form and iPad at the check in station two years ago. I then had a script running that could connect everything and send the emails instantaneously to families letting them know when their students arrived to school
So the regular SmartPass Notification goes to the staff member like any other pass notification and then you automatically send an email to the family member of the student that signed in? I assume the student signing in would be linked to your SIS information so that the script could pull the parent email address?
